Android 5.1 upgrade on Moto G 4G
« on: June 17, 2015, 08:45:29 AM »
Just had this update (yesterday) and battery use has increased dramatically. Normally I can get around 4 days of battery use (switch phone off overnight). Now since 5 pm yesterday (3.40 pm just now) i've used over 50% battery life.

I've also noticed I've got Skype, which I don't remember having before.

Does anyone have an idea why my battery is draining much faster?

Go to settings and check your battery usage. It should show you in percentages what is using the battery.

Android os is using the most. I recharged this morning and since 10 am (now 6pm) down to 74%.

I've only sent 1 text message, and received 1 message on Viber
Android os          12%
Messaging            4%
Viber                     4%
Android System     2%
Screen                   1%
Mobile Standby      1%

Battery now showing 21 hours left.
