Increasing internal storage on SD card
« on: September 25, 2017, 08:33:39 AM »
Hi Folks.
I currently have an 8Mb SD card in my Moto G, formatted as 'Internal Storage'.  A lot of this space is taken up with the maps for my Satnav app.  I have acquired a larger capacity SD card.  My question is 'How can I transfer the contents of the current SD card to the new one?'  Formatting the card as internal storage produces a different file system that can not be read on a PC, so it is not simply a matter of formatting the new card as internal storage then copying the contents from the old card on the PC.  There is not sufficient space on the inbuilt internal storage to transfer the date temporarily.  Any advice would be welcome.  I could of course delete all the data, change the SD card then re-install the app and the data, but as it takes several hours to transfer the map data, I would prefer something that is quicker and hopefully easier.
Thanks.
Keith
